Regular Dental Maintenance

Regular dental maintenance is key to preventing tooth decay, gum disease, and costly treatments. Routine check-ups and cleanings help keep your smile healthy, catch issues early, and support long-term oral wellbeing.

A visit for dental maintenance doesn’t have to be a traumatic experience, and it doesn’t have to be a place that you avoid until there’s a painful toothache.

One of our missions here at TEETH @ Tiong Bahru Dental Clinic is to ensure that every patient has a positive experience. Our team will take care of everything from start to finish, ensuring patients feel relaxed and comfortable throughout their entire oral health maintenance appointment.

Routine dental maintenance is normally sufficient for most people to maintain their oral health and prevent tooth decay and gum disease. In addition to the dental check-up, the appointment with our family dentist also involves scaling & polishing, fluoride treatment, and sometimes special tests depending on your specific needs. We believe in personalised treatment plans tailored specifically for each patient’s needs. This results in more effective outcomes without unnecessary pain or discomfort.

Benefits of Regular Dental Maintenance

Is it just an adage that you should visit your dentist once every 6 months? Is it necessary to see a dentist in Singapore that often? Making frequent visits to a general dentist for cleanings and dental check-ups is a crucial aspect of maintaining your teeth’s health. However, the most significant benefit of receiving routine maintenance treatment and a dental check-up is the peace of mind it provides.

Our routine dental maintenance includes scaling and polishing to remove the bacterial biofilm (plaque) and calculus that build up on everyone’s teeth. Regular teeth cleaning helps maintain gum health and prevent the development of gingivitis or periodontitis. And even better, the scaling and polishing process also removes stains that build up over time, leaving you with a bright, natural smile. We also provide fluoride treatments to help desensitise the teeth and to increase their protection from developing tooth decay.

The benefits of coming into our general dentistry clinic include discussing:

  • Potential oral diseases and prevention with knowledgeable professionals
  • Dental care advice that you can incorporate into your daily routine to build teeth-healthy habits
  • Cosmetic dental options like teeth whitening or straighter teeth through Invisalign clear aligners

Routine Dental Maintenance Process

If it’s your first time visiting our family dental clinic, our team may recommend a dental X-ray of your mouth or a digital 3D scan of your teeth. This will help us identify any cavities or tooth decay, as well as perform a complete visual examination of any potentially impacted teeth.

Thereafter, our professional team of dentists will use an ultrasonic scaler to remove plaque and calculus buildup from the teeth efficiently. This is usually concentrated in the area right next to the gum line (you may experience some sensitivity during the procedure). Once completed, the dentist will polish the teeth to remove any remaining stains, leaving them feeling clean and smooth.

Our fluoride treatment involves applying a thin layer of concentrated fluoride gel directly to the upper and lower teeth. We then advise patients to keep this gel on their teeth for 30 minutes to enhance absorption, and rinse before eating or drinking. This allows the fluoride to soak into the teeth over several minutes for maximum effectiveness. It is recommended that you refrain from eating or drinking for at least half an hour after the treatment.

By visiting our clinic in Singapore for a dental check-up twice a year, our general dentists can identify potential problems before they become more serious issues.

Cost for Dental Check-Ups

Regular general dental check-ups and twice-yearly oral health maintenance sessions will help keep your teeth looking their best for years to come.

Dental teeth cleaning costs for a scale and polish vary depending on each patient’s needs. For most patients who come into our clinic for appointments every six months, the routine treatment costs between $136.25 and $207.10. We encourage you to meet with our dentist to discuss your particular needs and treatment costs.

If you have any questions about how we can improve the appearance of your smile, please don’t hesitate to contact us at TEETH dental clinic in Singapore about our affordable teeth maintenance and cleaning services. Our general dentistry team would love to hear from you and discuss how we can help you maintain healthy teeth and gums!

General Dentistry

Dental Examinations

This is a critical part of the dental appointment.  At your first visit and subsequent check-ups, the dentist will conduct a thorough examination of not only your oral health but also the health of the peri-oral tissues.

Dental Fillings

Fillings are placed to restore teeth to function and appearance after trauma, caries removal or tooth wear. Fillings can be categorised into two types: silver–coloured or tooth-coloured. However, we no longer place silver coloured fillings at our clinic.

Periodontal Treatment

Also known as non-surgical periodontal treatment or gum therapy, this is a treatment for individuals with periodontal or gum disease.  During your regular check-up, our dentist will always assess your gum health.

Regular Maintenance

This is the regular maintenance treatment that is usually sufficient for most people to maintain oral health. In addition to the dental check-up, it involves scaling and polishing, fluoride treatment, and sometimes special tests depending on your specific needs.

Root Canal Treatments

When the nerve of a tooth dies or becomes infected, you may experience pain and swelling. This can cause a severe toothache in extreme cases. Root canal treatment allows us to remove the infected or necrotic nerve while saving the tooth.

Tooth Extractions

Extraction is the treatment to take a tooth out under local anaesthetic. It is usually done because a tooth can no longer be restored, is too mobile, or for orthodontic treatment.
